Yard Sale Treasures

As most of you know, Hut and I LOVE to yard sale on Saturdays. We can usually find something we "don't" need. This Saturday was no exception. We did find some really good deals. I think our best deal was a 4 foot Barbie dollhouse. Fully furnished. $25. Great condition. Of course Hut has it put away for now, so I couldn't get a picture of it. It has 3 floors and all kinds of furniture and accessories. The only thing that didn't come with it was the Barbi dolls. But that was okay, because at another yard sale we bought 3 Holiday Barbies for $20. Since I know they were originally like $25 each and now sell on Ebay for $10, I think we got a great deal. When Hut gets the house out of the "junk" room, I will be sure to get some pics. We got it for our granddaughter. I'm sure she's gonna love it.
We also got a few smaller things that I did manage to get pics of.

Hut calls this "El Diablo". It's a cow skull. We bought it for $3. The man who was taking the money tried to tell us it was $30. His wife set him straight. Hut said he's always wanted one of these. It's amazing the things you find out after 16 years of marriage. I never knew he wanted one of these lol.

I know you guys have probably seen these at Walmart. It's a tree stump with a man's face carved in it. It is a solar light. His eyes light up at night. Walmart had them for $20. I got him for $5. I also got this little fire hydrant with a face. I told Missy, I don't know what my fascination is with things with faces. I just love anything that has a face that shouldn't.
Last but not least is this water pump. It was brand new, in the box and we "stole" it for $12. We had seen some really pretty yard fountains at a craft show a couple of weeks ago. Hut figures he could build one. If you remember, we bought a big tin tub at the Celebration yard sale at the beginning of October. We really didn't know what we were going to do with it. Now it is going to become a fountain. And trust me, there is a blog going to be done whenever Hut finished the fountain. We are going to be taking pictures as we go. So those were our finds this week. After yard saleing most of the morning, we went to some scrap book stores. It was a busy day for us, but we had fun. Have a great night.

Don't put the cow skull in your garden because dogs will chew on it. I learned that lesson the hard way. Neat stuff.

Wow...you found some really cool stuff! I love yard sales, but rarely get the time to go to them. Here in Tennessee they have them on Fridays and Saturdays only and I work both days.

Hmmm...I thought I had previously left a comment on this post but obviously it's not here.

Sounds like you had a fun day shopping for "treasures". The pump is my favorite thing but I'm not sure what to do with one.

Alot of you have inquired about the water pump. Hut is going to try to make a water fountain out of it. We are going to take some before pictures and after pictures. That is keeping him occupied right now.

You always find the neatest things at yard sales. In reference to the Barbies.... i have a daughter that will soon be 18 and we still have a closet full of Barbies, most still in the boxes but I can't bear to sell them on ebay for $10.00 Maybe some day Katlyn will give me a grandaughter and she can play with them.
