HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

This has been one heck of a year.  Started with hubby having triple by-pass surgery and ending with him possibly needing a pacemaker.  In between I became insulin dependant with my diabetes and one of my brothers was diagnosed with bladder cancer.  But despite the roller coaster ride, all is well and my faith in the Lord is stronger than ever.
Plus I've made alot of new friends this year and had fun keeping up with the old.  Mended some fences. I actually can't complain about anything.  All the things I thought were bad, were not as bad as others have had it.  I am pretty blessed.

And this New Year coming up, I am NOT making any resolutions.  I have, however, set a few goals for myself.  The first and foremost is to spend more time with my heavenly Father.  Read more of my bible and spend more time praying and conversing with the Lord.  My second goal is to finish the afghans I started for my granddaughters 3 years ago, lol.  Yep, started them before Rossi was born and I'm not even close on either one.  My goal is to finish them for Christmas.  My 3rd goal is a short term goal.  See the chubby couple above?  Well I want them to look like the skinny couple below.  No, not really.  But I do want to lose at least 10 lbs by February 15.  And as I sit here typing and thinking about it, it's do-able.  But I need to make it happen in real life.  I've lost 7 lbs in the last two months so I'm pretty positive if I try hard I can make 10 lbs possible.
Those are my goals for this year.  Not many, but why be overwhelmed, lol.  Please have a safe New Years Eve and I'll be praying for all of us to keep our resolutions or achieve our goals.

Nick on the shelf

Most people have an elf on the shelf for their kids. Santa and I have a Snowman on the shelf or in the chair or wherever.  His name is Nick and he is the size of a toddler.  Nick's been in the family for almost 20 years, but for some reason this year he is in to EVERYTHING!
Here he is on the computer, checking out Northpole.com.  A great place for kids and BIG kids to play and have fun.  So we really didn't ming that he was on the computer.
Nick is a very helpful snowman.  Here he is making a donation to Relay for Life.
Nick is reading the Christmas cards we have already recieved.  He keeps up with them everyday, making sure they go in our reindeer card holder.
Last night we caught Nick trying to take the sled off the side of the house.  We have a small sled that we keep hanging on the house all year long.  It's just his size.  Don't know what he was thinking as we live in Florida and we NEVER get snow.
And just because I haven't posted any pictures of Santa yet this year, here he is at his first event of the year.  He was a little under the weather in this picture, but he is all better now and looking forward to the many more events he has to do this season.
