Rossi.....Day 2

You all know how much I love my sweet Layla. Who would have thought that precious little Rossi would make me burst at the seams with so much love. She is my sweet little angel. I can't even find words to describe the emotions I am feeling. I haven't even seen Layla since Rossi was born. But cute story from Mom and Dad. All of Layla's cousins are younger than her, so they've all been babies to her. When she first saw Rossi, she said "There's my baby cousin". When she was corrected and told it was her baby sister, she kind of went into shell shock. She thought her baby sister was her momma's belly, lol. Well once she got to hold Rossi, she wouldn't let anyone else. That's her baby sister and she's not sharing, lol.
Doesn't Diana look wonderful? They took all her IV's out and she hasn't had any pain meds since. This woman is awesome and we just love her.
Here's Daddy with Rossi. Wade is so good with her. She is spoiled rotten already. I wish I had taken a picture of him when he first came out with her right after she was born. He was just glowing and proud as a peacock.
Here's Grampy holding her. This man is amazing with kids. I really wish sometimes we would have had a baby together. He loves Layla and spoils her, now Rossi is going to be just as spoiled.
A close up.
Uncle Gotty is in awe.
He is so proud of his niece. Just look at his face.
Isn't she just so sweet?
She is such a content baby. She doesn't care who holds her.
Rossi's telling Nana stories.
Grampy busted in the act!
We had such a wonderful visit. We are going to give them some time to get home and get settled in and then we will go back for another visit. We are hoping that the family gets to come home today. If not, for sure on Saturday.

Welcome...........Rossi Jean

Need I say more????? Of course I do. Rossi was born at 6:24pm 1/27/2010. She weighed in at 7lbs 4oz and she's 19 inches long. Diana's surgery was later than we thought and by the time she would have gotten out of recovery visiting hours would be over. So we couldn't see Rossi for more than a couple of minutes tonight. But that was enough. I got to hold my precious new granddaughter. Here is Rossi's first picture.
They bring the baby out long enough for family to see and then take them back to their moms in recovery. The nurse said it was okay to take some pictures, so I have a couple to share.

A close up shot. Isn't she just the most beautiful baby you've ever seen? I think so.Nana holding her precious Rossi. She wasn't too happy at first but then she settled right down. She is so beautiful.Diana's sister Jessie was there too. She also got to hold the baby. No one else really wanted to. Hut and Scott said she was too little right now. Not sure why Liz didn't want to. You better believe me when I say me and Jess definitely wanted to hold the baby.

I hope you enjoyed meeting Rossi. I enjoyed sharing her with you. We are going back to visit her tomorrow so you know I will be getting more pictures to share.

Rossi Jean's Baby Shower

Welcome Rossi Jean! Isnt' this poster great? Amber, who co-hosted this event, made this. The hand prints are actually Layla's hands. Isn't that awesome? I would have never thought to do that.

This is how the baby shower cake started out. I did a pull a part cake. I used to do them when I was a cake decorator at Publix. I wish I had used Publix icing for this cake, but I used Pillsbury already in a can. I will NEVER to that again. Here's why:

The icing in the can was just too soft. It kept cavin in between the cupcakes. But I'm still proud of my cake. And no one complained while they were eating it, lol. And I have to tell you that Grandpa Hut actually baked the cupcakes for me.

Here is 1/2 the table spread. Cheese and crackers, spinach dip, chocolate dipped pretzel rods, lollipops, deviled eggs, apples and grapes with this awesome dip that Amber makes.

Chips and dip, chocolates that look like baby items, pig in a blanket, and a baby bottle that was filled with M&M's. The bottle was for a game of guessing how many are in it.

This is Amber taking a picture of me, taking a picture of her. She was the best. We had the baby shower at her house. What a great hostess she is.

Wade and Diana in front of the poster. Wade didn't think I would post this because he has a cracker in his mouth.

Some shots of the guests.

Opening the first gift. Diana wanted Layla to help her. As you will see in other pictures....all the kids ended up helping her.

These were some shots of the kids helping Diana with the gifts. There were I believe 4 helping her. I wasn't in the best spot to take shots of the gifts. She got alot of diapers, formula, toys, bibs, clothes, baby snacks. Plus a few other items like the photo frame and a baby book, a foot print and hand print set. Lots of great stuff.

Finally the last bag. We played a few games in between. Baby Bingo, Word Scramble, Guess how many M&M's in the baby bottle. We also played the clothes pin game, where everyone got a clothes pin and if you crossed your arms or legs and you got caught, whoever caught you got your clothes pin. If you caught someone you could take theirs. The one with the most pins won. And then we played the diaper game only no one knew it was a game. I made little diapers to wear as party favor pins. One unsuspecting guest had a "dirty" diaper. Diana won that one (of course). Diana's mom won the clothes pin game. Amanda, one of Diana's childhood friends won the word scramble. She had told us all that she was good at that game and she was going to win it and she did. Diana's grandmother won Baby Bingo and the baby bottle game. It was loads of fun.

After the baby shower, we got the boxing gloves out. Everyone loves playing with the boxing gloves. Here is Layla getting ready to box Uncle Gotty. Those of you on FaceBook, there is a video of Layla and Uncle Gotty boxing.

Layla and Maddie boxing. Maddie is like Uncle Gotty in that she laughs too much to box.

Last but certainly not least is Layla boxing with Daddy. She switched up gloves...she has the black ones and Wade is wearing pink. In less than a day, Rossi Jean will be here. I am so excited. I will post baby pictures as soon as I can tomorrow or Thursday. Thanks for taking the journey with me to Rossi's birth. It has been a fun journey and I'm sure it is going to be more fun in the future.

Stay tuned

Baby Shower was fun, fun, fun yesterday. When I get home from work today I will get some pictures posted. I can't believe my Rossi Jean will be here in just 2 days. So come back later tonight for some Baby Shower Fun.

Fun with the Family

Saturday night we met up with Wade, Diana and Layla at downtown Disney. I just love going there. It was our last outing as a family before Rossi Jean arrives. We will be getting together on Sunday for the baby shower. That's a blog for another day.
To start off, Layla and Uncle "Gotty" rode the train. I had told Scott before we left the house that he was going to ride the train with her this time, I rode last time. And of course I wasn't doing such a great job trying to take pictures, so Wade became the photographer. We made a video too, Wade got creative. I will be posting the video on FB.

Layla and Uncle "Gotty" riding the train. Then it was off to ride the carousel. I kept cutting Scott's face off, so this is the best shot I have. Uncle Gotty, Layla and Daddy Wade.Layla and Daddy. She loves riding these but she always looks scared out of her mind, lol.Coming out a side door of the Christmas shop (my fav) you end up at the Rainforest Cafe. Layla wanted her picture taken with the elephant.Grampa Hut wanted a picture with Layla and his favorite daughter in law, Diana. Yeah I know, she's his only daughter in law right now, lol. But we do LOVE her.Layla was trying to get away and Uncle Gotty scooped her up.Oops, caught in the act. After walking downtown Disney we decided to grab a bite to eat at Fuddruckers. They have the most awesome hambergers (well next to 5 Guys). Here is Layla goofing around with Daddy's hat while we let our food settle.Layla going "Gansta"Scott and I leave our boxing gear in the truck. So the boys dug out the gloves and decided to have an impromtu boxing match in the parking lot. I have a small video of them boxing that I will be posting on FB. They laughed more than anything and I believe the match was a draw.

It was a fun night for all. We always enjoy the time we spend with Wade, Diana, Layla and Scott.

Deck of Cards

This is a song sung by Tex Ritter years ago. I remember my daddy playing it. I had a copy of the record but who knows where it is now. I love this and since I got it in an email today I thought I would share it with all of you. With the devastation in Haiti and our military being send overseas, I just feel like GOD needs to be more prominent in our lives.
Deck of Cards
It was quiet that day, the guns and the mortars, and land mines for some reason hadn't been heard. The young soldier knew it was Sunday, the holiest day of the week. As he was sitting there, he got out an old deck of cards and laid them out across his bunk. Just then an army sergeant came in and said, 'Why aren't you with the rest of the platoon?' The soldier replied, 'I thought I would stay behind and spend some time with the Lord.' The sergeant said, 'Looks to me like you're going to play cards.' The soldier said, 'No, sir. You see, since we are not allowed to have Bibles or other spiritual books in this country, I've decided to talk to the Lord by studying this deck of cards.' The sergeant asked in disbelief, 'How will you do that?' 'You see the Ace, Sergeant? It reminds me that there is only one God. The Two represents the two parts of the Bible, Old and New Testaments The Three represents the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost. The Four stands for the Four Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John . The Five is for the five virgins there were ten but only five of them were glorified. The Six is for the six days it took God to create the Heavens and Earth. The Seven is for the day God rested after making His Creation. The Eight is for the family of Noah and his wife, their three sons and their wives -- the eight people God spared from the flood that destroyed the Earth. The Nine is for the lepers that Jesus cleansed of leprosy He cleansed ten, but nine never thanked Him. The Ten represents the Ten Commandments that God handed down to Moses on tablets made of stone. The Jack is a reminder of Satan, one of God's first angels, but he got kicked out of heaven for his sly and wicked ways and is now the joker of eternal hell. The Queen stands for the Virgin Mary. The King stands for Jesus, for he is the King of all kings. When I count the dots on all the cards, I come up with 365 total, one for every day of the year. There are a total of 52 cards in a deck; each is a week - 52 weeks in a year. The four suits represent the four seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. Each suit has thirteen cards -- there are exactly thirteen weeks in a quarter. So when I want to talk to God and thank Him, I just pull out this old deck of cards and they remind me of all that I have to be thankful for.' The sergeant just stood there. After a minute, with tears in his eyes and pain in his heart, he said, 'Soldier, can I borrow that deck of cards?'
Please say a prayer for those in Haiti and for our military. Thank God every day for what you have. Make GOD a part of your life.

Frozen Orange Juice anyone?????

This is what the inside of the our Explorer said. ICE! Thank God there is no snow to shovel, but it is FREEZING here in Florida. Usually we get a day or two of this weather and we tolerate it. But 3 weeks???!!!! Come on now, something needs to give. Yesterday we had snow flurries and sleet. Can you imagine? We were not in Winter Haven when that happened so we have no pictures. But today it was 27 degrees when I went to work and it was 37 when I got home. Does that sound like sunny Florida? Sunny, maybe, but definitely not Florida weather.
This is the roof and hood of Liz's car in the yard this morning. Ice and thick frost. Could be snow.
9:00 am and icicles on the orange trees.
Not even the biggest icicle but it's pretty big. Yes that's my hand holding it. I picked it off the orange tree.Check out the ice on the ground around the small orange trees. This was about 11:00 am.
1:30 in the afternoon. The poor trees are still frozen. So what's all this hype about Global Warming? Someone refresh my memory, lol.
