The Reel Deal

I just found a schedule of movies that AMC Theatres are showing this summer for kids. Admission is only $1 and the price goes to AMC's Variety: The children's charity. This charity aids physically challenged, sick and needy kids and also the Will Rogers Institute, which researches tuberculosis, asthma and pulmonary disease. These are great causes.

The movie schedule is as follows:

6/17 Space Chimps
6/25 Kung Fu Panda
7/1 Madagascar Escape 2 Africa
7/8 Tale of Despereaux
7/15 Horton Hears a Who
7/22 The Spiderwick Chronicles
7/29 Nim's Island
8/5 Star Wars: The Clone Wars

I know some of these dates have already gone by...sorry, just found out the info. But I think this is a great way to spend time with family, in a cool place watching a cool movie. And for those of you who aren't sure your child is ready for movies, for only $1 you can find out. Please check out: http://amctheatres.com/smc/ for information. Spend some summer fun with your family.

Family and Fun

My cousin Yvette and her family are down from Massachusetts for a couple of weeks. They have a place in Ocala, about a 2 hour drive from us. They love to go to a place called Old Town, in Kissimmee. Old Town has been there for at least 25 years. On Saturday nights they have a Cruisin', where people bring their old classic cars and cruise through this "town". The town is actually a variety of stores and restaurants and arcades, rides and street vendors. A very inexpensive, fun place to go. I didn't think to take pictures of Old Town as we go quite often and I forgot that you guys have never been there. I did, however get some great pics of my favorite girl, Sweet Layla. Diana, her momma, had a birthday on Thursday but we couldn't get to St. Cloud to celebrate. So we all got together and had a good time at Old Town.We took the kids out for something to eat, partly to celebrate Diana's birthday and mostly because they were hungry. I love this picture of Daddy and Layla coloring while they wait for their eats. Grandpa Hut wasn't with us, he was saving us a good seat to watch the car cruise from.Of course Nana had to buy Layla some things she couldn't live without. Here is Layla showing Grandpa Hut what she got.She got a pink and black feather boa and a t-shirt that made her look like a princess. Here's Grandpa Hut modeling Layla's goodies, lol. I don't think pink is really his color.Layla and Nana walking down the street.

Wade, Diana and Layla.....family portrait.

Giving Layla lots of lovin'.

Sponge Bob is one of Layla's favorite characters. He stopped by to have a Budweiser with Grandpa Hut while we were shopping. I told Grandpa Hut that Sponge Bob should have had a Pepsi or something other than beer. Hopefully next time Sponge Bob stops by, it won't be for a beer.

Pay It Forward

The expression "pay it forward" is used to describe the concept of asking that a good turn be repaid by having it done to others instead.

I am taking part in a Pay It Forward. My friend PEA from Pea's Corner ( see my sidebar to visit her blog) is hosting one (well actually 2). I decided to participate since it seems like such fun. Now I need a total of 3 people to say they will join as well.
Please do this, you would not believe the wonderful feeling it gives to Pay It Forward!! If you want to join in the fun, just leave a comment saying you'd like to be included. The first three people to do so will receive a gift from me sometime during the next year. In turn, they will post a Pay It Forward on their blog and send a gift to three people who agree to participate.
You never know when the gift will arrive in the mail. It could be next week or next June. It truly is a lot of fun trying to find out what people like so you can send an appropriate Pay It Forward gift. It can be bought or handmade and doesn't need to be expensive at all. The truly fun part is sending the gift, what a wonderful feeling.
So share the love. And if you aren't one of the first 3 to comment to me.....host your own Pay It Forward!
"You don't pay love back; you pay it forward."

And so it begins

As Hut and I were out wandering Sunday...deciding where he wanted to eat for Father's day, we stopped at The Gift Mill. It's a local restaurant gift shop. They were having a clearance sale and I bought the first baby gift for the new grandbaby. It's the cutest little lamp I think I've ever seen. It's in a neutral green. It has a checkerboard design on the bottom (Wade loves checker board designs) and a polka dot lamp shade (Diana likes polka dots). So I have everyone covered. It has a little teddy bear on it and it says "Dreaming of Camp Grandma". You know I just had to have it. And so it begins....shopping for a new little one.

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all you wonderful Dad's out there. Biological dads, step-dads, adopted dad's, fill in dad's, dads to be......anyone who fills the needs of a dad. My oldest son Wade is celebrating his first Father's day as a step-dad, but great news yesterday means next Father's Day he'll be celebrating with 2 children ( Sweet Layla and baby). Today, pamper your dad. Let him hog the TV, eat in his lounge chair..goof off all day. You kids mow the grass, trim, whatever it takes to give your dad a break he well deserves. Dads.....enjoy your day. WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!

Announcing..........

If you can't already guess....I'll tell you. I went to breakfast with Wade, Diana and Layla today. I learned I'm going to be a grandmother, again. I have 2 grandchildren by my step-daughter ( that you all know we very seldom see). And now we have sweet Layla, who is my son's step-daughter. But today, Wade and Diana announced they are expecting. I love all the grandbabies and great-niece and great-nephew, but this one is going to be my own flesh and blood baby. Which is not going to make me love any of the others any less.....it's just exciting to see my family blood line carried on. They go to the doctor's on Tuesday, so we will find out the due date then. I am so excited. Diana figures she's due the end of February. That would be great because my birthday is near the end of February and what a great present that will be. But I'll take a healthy grandbaby born on anyday. I'm so excited as if you couldn't tell. I've had more than my fair share of exciting news this past month....but I'm not complaining by any means. I'll keep you posted on baby news, lol.

2 Weddings, 2 Baby Showers in 2 Weeks

We've had a busy two weeks here. First of all, you know my son Wade got married to Diana on May 25. Then on July 13, his cousin Tony got married Tarah. This past Tuesday, my friend Audrey (Wade's ex and still friend) and her boyfriend Tommy had a baby shower. And this next Monday, June 22,Wade's friend Bobby and his wife Kerin are having a babyshower. I won't be able to make that one, but we sent a gift. I do have a few photos from the various events to share with you.

My handsome son Wade and his beautiful bride Diana.

Here's the Scianimanico clan at Cousin Tony's wedding. On the top photo from left to right is Hut, my ex mother in law, Tootsie, my ex husband, Jim, my ex father in law, Frank, Wade, Layla, Diana and Wade's sister, Ashley. Not sure where my other son Scott is. Bottom photo is different angle. We did not go to the wedding, we were just invited to the reception. It was a great time with good friends and family.
Here's my sweet Layla ( or Little Red as Hut calls her). She's dancing and eating ice at the reception.

Here's the couple ( with some help) getting ready to cut the cake. From the left is a good shot of Tarah's back( in the peach and white). In the brown dress with her back to us is one of Tarah's sisters. At the back of the table, we have on the left, Tony's mother Darr and of course the groom, Tony. Here's the couple trying to make an escape on a scooter. Bride's having some issues with her dress.
Success!!!!! And off we go to start our new life together.

Now on to baby showers. Here's Audrey's baby shower cake. It says "Good bye Tummy, Hello Mommy". It was cute. Here's Audrey and Tommy with one of Wade & Diana's gifts (Wade and Diana couldn't make it so I took their gifts with me and Hut). It's a 3 part photo album set. Another of W&D's gifts....a jeweled photo frame with baby booties....Audrey likes bling.
Audrey and Tommy with our gift....a baby outfit and photo album. Finally a candid shot....Audrey and Tommy like to pose for pictures. And even though I'm not going to make it to Bobby and Kerin's shower ( I have to work), I did want to show everyone the happy expecting couple.

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to one of the greatest woman on Earth. Unfortunately I never got to meet her. Today my mother in law, Syble, would have been 76 years old. I never had the opportunity to meet her. I wish I had. Never have I heard anyone say an unkind word about her. Everyone loves her. If she were here I'd thank her for the wonderful man I'm married to and the greatest sister in law in the world. I know Syble would be so proud of her family. She is greatly missed by everyone, even those of us who never met her. My wonderful sister in law, Missy, shared this photo with me. She was beautiful woman. Happy Birthday, Syble. You will live on and be loved forever.

I'm Published

I am now a published photographer. Well locally anyways, lol. Our local newspaper, the Winter Haven News Chief, let's people send in their digital photos of nature. I submitted 4 photos about a month ago and had just about given up on seeing any published. Well this morning I heard Hut say, "Bonnie Hutto is in the paper". I'm like, what are you talking about? I couldn't remember any reason I'd be in the paper. It was a picture I had sent in. I was thrilled, lol. It was a picture I had taken of a dove on a nest at State Farm. Here's the photo I submitted. Here it is in the newspaper. If you look really close on the top right you can just make out my name. As you can tell, it really doesn't take much to excite me, lol. This is a picture of Molly and Max at the ballfield. Isn't Molly getting BIG??!!!Another shot of Molly and Max.

Well it's off to Walmart. I have another wedding to go to this evening, actually just the reception. Wade and Scott's cousin Tony is getting married to his high school sweetheart, Tarah, this evening. Two weddings in two weeks, I'm pooped, lol. Hopefully I'll have some photo's to share of it. Have a great weekend.

Women's Study

I got this in an email and thought it was worth sharing with all my female friends out there. They actually did a study on this and here are the results:

Women's Ass Size Study

There is a new study just released by the American Psychiatric Association about women and how they feel about their asses.

The results are pretty shocking:

1. Only 5% of women surveyed feel their ass is too big.

2. 10% of women surveyed feel their ass is too small.

3.. The remaining 85% say they don't care; they love him; he's a good man and they would have married him anyway.

MySpace, FaceBook, Twitter........

So many choices, so little time to keep up with them all. I am signed up for all three of the above mentioned, but I do not keep up with FaceBook or Twitter. I cannot figure those out. I have had MySpace for years and that is where I keep up with friends and family. Plus blogging of course. Lately, though, there hasn't been anything to really blog about. So, where to the rest of you keep up with friends and family?

Under The Empire

I know that I have blogged about this band before. But these guys are awesome. And of course, it doesn't hurt that my son, Wade is in the band, lol. As you can tell by the previous post, I haven't been able to do much, except hobble around on crutches. Well last night, Under The Empire played a show at Doc's Place in Lakeland, not far from here. My poor husband has an ear infection and he was going to take me to see the guys. Well I couldn't do that to him. He was in such pain. So I thought since my left foot was injured, I could drive. I really didn't want to drive myself. Well then I thought I'll just call Wade and see if he'd come get me. And he did. So I got to go support my favorite rock band. Here's some photos of the show. I know they are dark....my camera just doesn't seem to be able to adjust to bar lighting, lol.

It's not all play....these guys have to work before playing. This is Wade getting his drums set up.This is Brett working on his guitars and amps. The other band members hadn't gotten there yet.Jason (aka J-Bones) couldn't be there because he had just had his appendix out. But the guys didn't forget him. They set up his guitar and put his mask on it. So even though J-Bones wasn't there physically, he was there in spirit.Tim, the lead singer.Brett, getting crazy. He is awesome and does some really crazy things with his guitar. You would have to see him. Maybe some day I can get some video of a show and show you what I mean.Tony, jammin'.And the best drummer in the world. My son, the newlywed, Wade. His beautiful bride, Diana had to work so she couldn't be there with us.Brett, Tony, Tim and Wade in the background....rockin' out.

Shot of the whole band.

Just finishing a song. Tim is "hawking" free stickers. They were giving away free Under The Empire stickers to the crowd. Yours truly was supposed to hand them out. I was stuck (no pun intended) at a table with the stickers. Tim actually ended up giving most of them away. I did bring some home so I could share with family and friends. I actually do have a good time at these shows. Wade has been in some other bands that I've absolutely hated, but these kids are really good and I would love to see them get a break.

Foot Injury Update

Well I just got back from the doctor's office. I have a hairline fracture and torn ligaments. They call this a "sprain". Now I'm sporting these cool fashion accessories......
This calf slimming ankle air splint.

To dress up the splint, make sure to add this lovely, black goes with everything post-op shoe.

And to finish off the ensemble, these beautiful, never go out of style crutches.

Now all I have to do is keep my foot propped up, put ice on it, and don't stand for longer than 5 minutes every hour.

This injury is on my left foot. Funny thing is.....February of 1999 I had the same injury on my right foot. Same location.....exactly 10 years ago. How strange is that.
