30 Days of Thankfulness Day 30

I have saved the best for last.  I am thankful for my Almight God and Lord Jesus Christ.  I am thankful for Jesus giving his life on the cross so that I might have everlasting life.  It is never too late to be thankful for Jesus either.  Invite Him into your heart, ask for forgiveness and live your life in him image.  Thank you Jesus!

30 Days of Thankfulness Day 29

Today I am thankful for my health.  While hubby and I do have health issues (comes with getting old, lol), I know there are others who are worse off than we are. I thank God that we are able to still get around without help, work, enjoy family, while others are not so fortunate.  So be thankful for what you have, because there are others not so fortunate.

30 Days of Thankfulness Day 28

Honestly I am thankful that there are only 2 more days this month.  Although I am thankful for alot of things, when it comes time to mention them, my mind draws a blank.  Or it's a repeat.  I have a friend who posted she was thankful for cough medicine, since she had a cold, and I thought that was kind of neat, but not something to be thankful for in a blog.  So that is what I am thankful for today.  And hopefully I'll think of something really awesome or witty to be thankful for these next two days.

30 Days of Thankfulness Day 27

Today I am thankful for......my pets.  I love my dogs and cats.  Shouldn't have favorites, but Molly and Max would be my favorite if I had favorites, lol.  Molly is my saving grace when I've had a bad day.  She is her momma's girl.  Max is the oldest and smallest and he can actually sit on my lap so I enjoy holding him as my stress melts away.  Bailey, well we'll just leave it at that.  He's our bassett hound and he looks like a cartoon but he drives me nuts in the middle of the night because he whistles, yes, whistles.  Some day I'm going to record him whistling.  And the cats.  I'm not a big fan of cats, but right before Tropical Storm Debby I found 3 kittens that someone had abandoned.  Cold, wet and hungry.  2 males and a female.  The female did not survive but she passed with a full belly and warmth as I held her.  The two males are the most loving cats I've ever owned.  I've never had any cats that have liked to sit on my lap and purr.  So I am thankful for all of my pets, because they make the rough parts of the day melt away when I get home.

30 Days of Thankfulness days 22,23,24,25 and 26

I am thankful that I am allowed to be a slacker over the holidays and not do any blogs, lol.

I am also thankful that I got to spend the holiday with friends and family, extended family. Thankful for the food, fellowship and fun.

I am thankful that my sister in law and her family come down from Virginia every year for the holiday and we get together the day after Thanksgiving (Black Friday) and do an ornament exchange with friends and family.

I am thankful for the beautiful weather we have had.  We are so blessed to not have the bad weather they have up north.

I am very thankful for my wonderful, loving husband, who puts up with me year after year.  I know I drive him crazy, especially at the holidays.

30 Days of Thankfulness Day 21

Today I am thankful for having a 4 day weekend to spend with family and friends.  I am fortunate that I am the receptionist at work and I get the holidays off (even though they are unpaid).  My co-workers have to work all the holidays.  So I am thankful for the time I get to spend with my family and friends.

30 Days of Thankfulness Day 20

Today I am thankful for my co-workers.  I am the only female working with a group of mostly older, retired men, 3 of whom were law enforcement officers.  I also work with a few younger men, who are very respectful and they are all great to work with.  We always have each others backs and cover for each other when the need arises.  In case most of you didn't know, I am a Security Officer.  However, I get the plush job of being the receptionist/admin assistant, lol.  But I have been known to cover regular officer shifts and duties when the need arises.  My co-workers are awesome and I am thankful that I work with them.

Family

Just thought I'd throw this out there.  Family get together 11/18/2012.  From left to right, back row,  Griffin, Aunt Missy, Hut, Uncle Mike, me and Wade.  Front from left to right is Rossi Jean, Diana and Layla Sue.  Scott couldn't be there because he had to work.  :(

30 Days of Thankfulness Days 17, 18 and 19

I don't think it's any easier to be thankful for 3 days as it is for one.   But I am thankful that Saturday I got to spend with both sons, daughter in law, grandbabies and youngest son's girlfriend and her little boy.  Bonus for that day was running into my brother and his family at Downtown Disney.  I am so thankful that we spent the rest of the day with them.  My brother was diagnosed with bladder cancer a few months back and is fighting a battle with it.  We are praying for a good outcome.  But I am thankful for the time we spent together.  We lost 10 years together over something so stupid, I don't even remember why we quit talking.  But I am thankful to God for bringing us back together.

On a lighter note I am thankful that this week is only a 3 day work week.  I know, I know, it's like I'm wishing my life away.  I'm really just looking forward to spending more time with family.

30 Days of Thankfulness Day 16

Today I am thankful to have such a great job.  I fuss about it sometimes, but I think we all do at some point.  But this job allows me tons of time with my family.  I work either 7-3 or 7-5 Monday through Friday with weekends and holidays off.  I couldn't ask for anything more.  Until I got this job 5 years ago my hubby and I never had the same days off and it was hit or miss with the kids.  So thank you God for guiding me to this job and allowing me to succeed at it for this long.  Now I'm praying when hubby retires and we move, that I can find a job with the same benefits, lol.

30 Days of Thankfulness Day 15

Whew this is harder than I thought it would be.  I am thankful for so much, but when it comes  time to write what I'm thankful for I get a mental block, lol.

Today I am thankful for the internet.  Yes, the internet.  Why you ask?  Because without the internet I would not have met some of the most amazing friends I have.  And some I have been fortunate enough to actually meet in person.  And I have met family members I didn't know I had, cousins, nieces, nephews.  And it's very easy for me to keep up with long distance relatives now.  Plus where can you go and see such amazing sites from around the world.  Seriously, I had no idea about how beautiful the BIG wide world really is.

Yeah I know there are alot of falsehoods on the internet also and they we have to be really careful about alot of things.  But as with any aspect in life, you have to take the good with the bad.

My favorite thing about the internet?  What a great way to spread the Word of God!

30 Days of Thankfulness Day 14

Today I am thankful for having a roof over my head and a comfy bed to lay in.  Food on my table and in my fridge and cabinets.  I am thankful that I am able to have a comfortable lifestyle.  There are so many who don't have any of what I have.  Even in this country.  We all automatically think of 3rd world countries when we think of people who don't have anything.  I am thankful I am not one of them, but that I can do something, small or big, to make them a little more comfortable.  And not only for the holidays, but all year long.  And I am thankful that I have friends and family that do the same.

30 Days of Thankfulness Day 13

Today I am thankful for freedom of speech.  I am thankful that we have the right to say what's on our mind.  Now I am going to exercise that right and say that I wish all the political bashing would stop.  The election was over a week ago, our president is still president and like it or not, we must live with it for at least 4 more years.  Bashing him or bashing Romney isn't going to change anything, especially after the election.  Enough is enough.  Okay I'm done now.

30 Days of Thankfulness Days 10,11,12

There is so much to be thanful for and I was going to save the best for last but today it seems to be calling me.  I am thankful for such a wonderful God.  He sacrificed his only Son so that we could all be saved and have a beautiful, everlasting life in his heavenly kingdom.  Through God all things are possible.

I am thankful that God helped bring my brother and I back together after 10 years of personal nonsense.  And that's what it was....nonsense.  But I am very thankful to have my brother back although there is a down side to it.  My brother has Bladder Cancer. He's had 2 surgeries where they have removed the cancer but it has come back both times.  But I am still thankful for the time I will be able to have with him. And I am praying that God has mercy on my brother and heals him.  But whatever God's plan, I will honor it.

And I am thankful for being able to blog with and about my friends and family.  I am so thankful to have met some many friends through blogging and have come to know your families as well.

30 Days of Thankfulness Day 9

Today I am thankful for being blessed with a wonderful family.  I will probably be thankful for them and my friends many more times before the end of the month.  But I am always thankful for my friends and family EVERY SINGLE DAY!

30 Days of Thankfulness Day 8

Today I am thankful for the wonderful weather we are having. Perfect weather.  While I am thankful for our weather I am praying for others across the country, especially in the Northeast who are dealing with such severe weather.

30 Days of Thankfulness Day 7

I am thankful today, that as a country, we have the right to vote for our leaders.  And while I am not happy with the outcome of this election, I am thankful that I have the right to voice my opinion.  But I am also thankful that so many others exercised their right to vote.  It shows what a truly great country we are, where people are allowed to vote for their leaders.

30 Days of Thankfulness Day 6

Today I am thankful that I have a right to vote.  And I will be using that right this afternoon when I get off work.  So many others do not have that right and live lives they have absolutely no control over.  If you have chosen not to use your right to vote, then please use your right to remain silent.  If you couldn't take the time to vote, I can't take the time to listen to your complaints.  And for that I am also thankful, lol.

30 days of Thankfulness Days 2,3,4 and 5

Wow the days just get away from me.  I guess that's a good thing because that means I'm busy.

So I am thankful for being able to be busy. Others are not as fortunate as I am in being able to get out and do things.

I am thankful that I have a job to go to everyday.  Oh I may fuss about it, I know you do to.  But I am so thankful that I have a job that I enjoy.

I am very thankful for being so Blessed with my family.  God truly Blessed me with wonderful sons and a wonderful daughter in law and beautiful grandbabies.

I am very thankful that both my husband and I can give back something to the community.  Most of you know this is our time of year.  It starts with the Hogman and his gypsy bride.  The starting in November and throughout December, the Man in the Red Suit and his Missus make a few pre-Christmas stops in Florida, bringing joy to families, with the help of the City of Winter Haven, Winter Haven Police Department, Polk County Sheriff's Office and Peace River.  Just to name a few.

Now that I'm caught up, I hope I can stay that way for the duration of the month.  If not I hope you will be patient with me on the days I need to catch up.

30 days of Thankfulness Day One

Yeah I know.  I'm a day late.  That just means I get to do two blogs today.  And it also means my first thing to be thankful for is my wonderful friends.  I am so thankful for each and every one of you.  Some of you I have met personally and some are just cyber-friends but each and every one of you is special to me.  I am so blessed to be able to call you all my friends.  I love you all.
