Strep Throat

I have been down and out with Strep Throat since Friday. I came to work today, like a fool. I don't get sick days or holiday pay for the days I miss with this company. So I've already lost 2 days with State Farm being closed on Thursday and Friday. I did call in on Monday. I came to work at 3am today to make up some hours. I'm supposed to work until 3pm. I'm hoping the boss man takes pity on me and can find someone to come in. Scott's arraignment is tomorrow and I really want to feel a whole lot better for that. Anyways, I'm glad you all can't catch this through the computer. Hopefully I'll have something to post about in the next few days when I'm feeling better. I did manage to go see Missy for a couple of hours the other day, hoping I didn't make anyone else sick in the process. Got a few pictures of my Layla from that day. You all have a great day!

Nothing New

I thought I'd better post something.....I haven't been here in awhile. I keep up with most of you now on Facebook. I've been a bad blogging buddy. I haven't really kept up with blogs lately. I used to be able to read them at work, but we've been so dang busy that I don't have a chance anymore. But I try to read a little when I get home. I hope that you are all doing well. You all know my woes. Scott is back in jail. The issued a warrant based on the case that was closed. Because there was no judgement on that case they could re-open it with probable cause. I'm not sure what probable cause they have. He has an arraignment on 11/25, the day before Thanksgiving. He also had a bond hearing on Monday 11/16 to see if we can get his bond reduced. It's at $10,000 right now, we are hoping the lawyer can get it down to $2,000 like last time. Other than that, not much else going on. We don't see Layla as much since the band went their separate ways. But we do try to get over to see them on Sundays. We have started going to church with Wade and Diana. Hut, Scott and I really like the church, I just wish it was so far to drive. Diana's grandmother also goes, so it gives us a chance to visit with her. And Wade's friend Tony and his wife Amber and their kids usually meet us somewhere for lunch after church. So it's a good time when we get together. This Saturday we are helping our friend Jane out with a get together she put together for Family Fun week, here in Polk County. She is putting on a 5K walk/run/jog type of deal. She is also going to have some kids "make and take" craft booths and a food stand. Hut and I are helping with the food stand. Taking a pot of chili too. So we are all trying to stay busy. The season to be busy is upon us. Take care, all my wonderful friends, and know that even if I don't leave a comment, I do try to read and keep up with you. I love you all.

Happy 3rd Birthday, Sweet Layla!!!

Sunday was Layla's 3rd birthday. After Church Sunday morning we all headed over to GG's house (Layla's Great Grandmother) for fun and festivities. We had a bounce house, good food, great friends and for Layla, lots of awesome presents.

Layla making sure the bounce house was in working order.

Daddy getting in on the act. The bounce house kept everyone busy throughout the day. Even some of us adults got in, yep me too. I'm so glad no one got a picture of me in there. Or on my way out, as I literally rolled out of it, lol.

Time to open the presents. Layla is waiting patiently for her presents, so she can open them.

Daddy reading the cards to Layla so she would know who got her what.

Ripping into a gift bag.

Oooooh another present for me. Daddy's such a good helper.

I wish we could have gotten a better picture of this present. See Wade's shirt? That's what Layla is holding up in her size. She loves Edward the Head from Iron Maiden and she wanted that shirt. She got some really cool presents, a couple of Barbies, a tattoo (yes, tattoo) kit, clothes, a guitar, a couple of games, the neatest digital camera for kids from her Grammy (Diana's mom). She made out like a bandit.

Time for some cake. This cake was a joint effort from Diana, GG and me. Diana and GG baked the cake, GG iced it and I decorated it. I wasn't sure I could do it after not decorating for over 4 years. But I think it came out okay. Diana sprinkles some colored sugar on it, put Strawberry shortcake on it and we were good to go.

Layla Sue getting ready to blow out the candles. Then cake and ice cream for everyone. It was a fantastic day for everyone, especially my Sweet Layla.

TRICK OR TREAT!

Saturday night it was off to St. Cloud to go Trick or Treating with Layla and her cousins Abby and JoJo. Besides me, Scott, Hut, Diana and Wade, Diana's mom, her friend, Diana's sister and her boyfriend and Diana and Wade's friend went with us. Yes more grown ups than kids, lol.
Layla and Abby hitching a ride for some treats.

Layla saying "But I don't know what to do?"
"Ahhhh! I get it now. You say Trick or Treat and you get CANDY!!!!"

Layla and the "ghost" dog.

Layla hamming it up for the camera. That is JoJo next to her in the stroller.

The kids got lots of goodies. And yummy cake to boot.
