YARD SALE

Well today I thought I would put some "junque" I have out for a yard sale. BIG mistake. It was so hot here, I packed everything up at 11 am. I didn't even get it set up until 8 am. I only had 6 people stop and they all came at 10 am. A few weeks ago we had gone to the Silver Moon Drive In in Lakeland because they have a flea market on weekends. We have always gone on Sundays to sell our stuff and never had to take anything home. This last time we went on a Saturday. We brought home almost everything we brought. So tomorrow, Sunday, we are taking the "junque" to Lakeland and hopefully we won't have to bring anything home. And for those of you who are wondering, Yes, it's a real drive in and yes people go and watch movies there. They are celebrating 60 years this year. I will take some pics while I'm there. It's awesome having a real drive in. My kids think it's the greatest thing. Missy, I don't remember when you are doing your yard sale, but I certainly hope you do better than I did. This one was nothing compared to the ones we used to have. Sorry no pics. Who wants to see my junk anyways?! LOL

Lynyrd Skynyrd

Last Saturday, me, Hut, Scott, Wade and Wade's friend Bobby, all went to Cypress Gardens to see Lynyrd Skynyrd. My husband and the boys are all HUGE fans. I'm a fan by marriage. It was an excellant concert. Everyone had a good time. Actually, the boys ended up in the reserved seat section because I knew one of the security guards. Hut and I sat a little further back. The boys got some pretty good pics.
This is when the band first came out. The crowd went wild!

A shot of the lead singer, Johnnie Van Zant, and some band members

A shot of the drummer. I'm sorry these pics are dark. It was a night concert.

A good time was had by all. The boys really enjoyed their concert.

Unwanted Guest

I don't know about anyone else, but I HATE snakes. They give me the creeps. I hate spiders, too, but can deal with them alot easier than snakes. A few months back I had 2 snakes in my house, in my bedroom. One was 4 feet long, the other was only about a foot. The one I saw in my garden today was about 1 1/2 to 2 feet. My husband assured me it was only a rat snake, with are harmless to humans. I don't care. I wanted it gone. Well in a way it was gone. Something evidently had gotten to it because it was dead. I don't care, I still want it gone. So hopefully my wonderful husband will dipose of it for me. But in the back of my mind, I keep thinking, this is a small snake, somewhere is a bigger one. Believe me, I will be keeping my eyes open alot more now when I'm in the yard.
Here is my unwanted guest.

Great place to work

As I told you all previously, I work for a security firm for a large insurance company. Well I absolutely love my job. I work with 6 men ( I am the only woman). Sometimes, I have to admit, it's like having 6 other husbands. I check ID's all day, answer the phone, input info into the computer and type reports. I work in a corner office with a HUGE window. The company I work at has a working orange grove. Which means they take care of it properly and the trees produce fruit. They have a fruit company come in, pick the fruit and sell it. All the proceeds from the fruit sales go towards charity. They have also set aside quite a few acres of land that is not to be developed. We have alot of wild life on that land. There are coyotes (I just recently learned we had those in Florida). We also have bobcats, panthers, wild turkeys, possums, raccoons, squirrels, ducks, gators, eagles, owls, cardinals, and sandhill cranes. I have seen most of these at one time or another. But the sandhill cranes will come right up to the office window. It really breaks up the monotony of the day to see the wild life. I do have a picture of the cranes. If I can catch the other wildlife with my camera, I will be sure to share.

Meet the Family

Yesterday was an experimental blog. Today I am going to introduce you to my family. This is my husband Hut and I when we renewed our wedding vows in February. The picture below is my husband Hut, my oldest son, Wade, Wade's best friend, Bobby and my youngest son, Scott, after a Lynyrd Skynyrd Concert.

The next two pictures are our loveable dogs, Max and Miss Piggy.
Hope you all enjoyed meeting my family. And I hope everyone had a safe Memorial Day.

My First Blog

Hi, I'm Bonnie and this is my husband Hut. Welcome to my blog. I am 47 years old, have a wonderful husband (whom I am still very much in love with after 16 years), two great sons and 2 lovable dogs. I work for a security firm as a lobby receptionist for a large insurance company. I am very new to blogging. My sis-in-law Missy talked me into trying it so wish me luck(please check out her blog at MissyMadeIt.com). I have just learned how to use a digital camera. I am very computer illiterate, so bear with me. I don't lead a very exciting life, but hopefully this will help family and friends keep up with me and my family. Thanks for checking out my blog.
