Old Neighbors......New Dog

Our neighbors are moving. They have been our neighbors for close to 16 years. They are moving to Washington State. James, Julie and Katie. We are really going to miss them. You couldn't ask for better neighbors. We haven't met the new neighbors yet, but Julie has assured us that they are good people. Only time will tell. Julie has 2 dogs, Princess who is an old lab/chow mix and Peanut who is a Boston Terrier (I think). We are getting Princess. She is going to be our "new" dog. I want to say that Princess is probably close to 10 years old. But she is a good old dog and knows us and our dogs so hopefully she will be able to adapt well. Tonight is her first night with us. Julie said if she found a place to live and could fly Princess out, then she will let us know. I think by the time that happens, Princess will be settled in with us and should stay with us. We'll see. I'll have to take some pics and keep you up on her progress. My husband is happy because we now have a dog that walks the same speed he does......slow. James, Julie and Katie....have a safe trip. You will be greatly missed. And Princess....welcome home.

I didn't know James at all ... but I can surely attest that Julie and Katie are great neighbors. Daddy used to love Julie too ... and I remember Katie as a teeny little girl ... she's a teenagar now right?

I'm glad they finally sold their house and are headed to WA.

Princess is going to fit right in with your family ... she's lucky to be adopted by you guys.

it sounds so incestous back there---bonnie is married to Hut----Hut is Missy's husband Mike's Brother--now I learn than even the pets are interchangable---they don't even bother to change the names to protect the innocent-----all I can say is if I were a 10yo dog---(wait a minute 10years for a dog equates to 70 for a human, and I'm 71), I would be mucho grande grateful I get to stay in my own neighborhood, and all its familiar smells and people. tis a very nice thing you did adopting "Princess".

Thanks for the nice words Gary, but I have to tell you that Hut is Missy's brother. Mike is our brother-in-law. Just want to keep you straight. And Cecile, I'm like you....no way would I put Princess on a plane and send her to Washington after a few months. She will already be settled in with us and I wouldn't uproot her again for anything. I love my "furr babies" too.
