Romantic Giveaway

I just love giveaways, don't you. And I love giving away things too. So I decided that I am going to give away some gifts for Valentine's Day. I'm not sure exactly what I'm giving away. I just want to pick up things that I think are romantic as I see them and put them together for a special giveaway. What I would like for you to do is comment on a romantic event that happened to you. You can enter as many times as you would like. It has to be a different event each time. Starting today and ending on my wonderful husband's birthday on January 31. I will pick the winner on February 1. I want enough time to make sure a package gets to the winner in time for Valentine's Day(I had problems with a package at Christmas that I shipped at the end of November and it still hasn't reached it's destination). Like I said, I'm not sure what's going to be in the package...just things that strike my fancy as romantic and Valentinesy.

And since I KNOW we all LOVE giveaways, check out Annie's blog at http://anniekelleher.blogspot.com/. She is having an awesome giveaway on her blog. Check it out.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'd love to have you on my blogroll.

I have already entered Annie's giveaway since that sounds so fun - I love mystery prizes.

My best Valentine surprise was an oh my God size flower arrangement. A very special person gave it to me. When I got to his place, he gave me a bouquet of 3 roses (1 for me, 1 for him and 1 for us together - very romantic) so very pretty. When I went to the bathroom (I know), in the middle of the tiny room was this HUGE basket of flowers that he had picked out himself. He worked with the florist to make beautiful arrangement. I stood in the bathroom crying - and of course he thought that was the funniest thing - cause they were good tears.

Ooooh I so love giveaways! As for a romantic event...hmmmm...let's see....One time I went to visit Steve for the weekend, little knowing that he was bringing me to Niagara Falls, our favourite place to be! He had reserved a room with a fireplace and heart shaped hot tub, had ordered a rose to be put on my pillow and we had pizza by candlelight! hehe xoxo

One of the first romantic things Mike did for me was when I worked at McDonald's when we were in high school.

I remember I was working on Valentine's Day and everyone was getting roses, flowers, candy, cards ... etc. I hadn't seen Mike all day and in he comes with roses and a little gift for me.

I opened up the little gift and it was diamond earrings!! They were the first diamond earrings I had ever received ... they were tiny little diamonds, but diamonds none the less. LOL! You have to remember I was probably 18 years old, so this was a HUGELY romantic thing in my eyes.

I just thought of another one ...

When Mike was in college, he worked at Walmart.

On Sundays when he got off of work, he would always drop by the house before going home and bring me a bouquet of flowers he had cut from the garden shop flowers (the department he worked in).

It was just the sweetest thing!!

A Romantic Giveaway...how exciting! I read this and thought to myself that my hubby is more like Cecile's hubby. If I want something he usually just takes me to get it...within reason. So I don't have any special stories to share sbout diamonds or jewelry. But I will share that my husband was the most wonderful son-in-law in the entire world to my sweet Mother while she was alive. When she would come for a visit he would go outside and wash her car. And later on when she was in the nursing home he took me to visit her every single day and if fo some reason I wasn't able to go, he would go check on her and sit and visit. He would go to the store and buy her the little cheese crackers she liked and take them to her. I couldn't have asked fror someone to be kinder to my Mom.

This morning when I got up and walked into the kitchen there was a little package on the counter. Now don't laugh...it was a Happy Meal toy. It was the little Boston Terrier toy from the Hotel For Dogs movie and he thought I would like it. I think sweet little things like that are romantic.

Sorry this was so long and rambling. My computer was out for a couple of days and I felt like it was forever!!!

Happy Saturday Bonnie!

Shortly after we met, Ron and I were standing in his workshop and Waltz Across Texas came on the radio. He took me in his arms and waltzed me across the dirty wooden floor and I felt like I was in a ballroom.

My late husband was a true romantic. There are so many little things he did that showed me how much he loved me. When we were dating he lived in Canada, I lived in Washington state. It was a 2 hour drive for him to come visit me which he did almost every weekend. During the week we would talk online for hours but we lived for the weekends when we could see eachother.
Several times he brought me my favorite flowers, yellow roses. I loved the roses, but hated it when they would die a week or so later. One time when I was cleaning the vase out and throwing out the flowers I told Frank how I felt having to throw them out... he didn't say much about it to me.
The next week when he arrived on his Goldwing he had a surpise for me. He presented to me with a bush... a yellow rose bush. He said he bought if for me so that I would always have yellow roses to remind me how much he loved me and I wouldn't have to throw them away. He planted and tended that rose bush for me. When we moved from Washington to Calif...he dug it up and took it with us. I wish I could say I still have that rose bush, but I had to leave it in California where I'm sure it is still blooming my beautiful yellow roses from my sweet hubby.
