I have a new name.......

It's Nana. This popped into my head yesterday as I was driving to work. It's not a "new" name, I've had it since May but it's one I didn't have before then. I wear that name proudly. But then it made me think of all the names I've had over the years. I was born Bonita Fay Denault. Family have always called me Bon. My brother Kevin called me BonFat. He's my brother, what can I say, lol. Then in middle school it was Bun. Stayed that way into high school. When my sister had kids I became Aunt Bon or Aunt Bonita. Then I got married and became Bonita Fay Scianimanico. My in-laws called me Nita. In 1984 my name changed to Mom, Momma, Mommy. I still carry that name. In 1992 I married a wonderful man and my name then became Bonita Fay Hutto. But Hut's family started calling me Bonnie. That name has stuck. Then came my stepdaughters first born, CJ. He called Hut PopPop. So for me, I became MopMop. That is what CJ and Alairah call me. And now, sweet Layla has called me Nana. I've been called a few other names that I won't mention here but I'm sure you could all figure out. I just didn't realize until yesterday how many names I have.

Great post Bonnie/Nana!
I've had sooo many different names (being married 4 times) but my favorite was when Frank called me "honey"...it was the way he said it.
I always wanted my grandkids to call me Grannie...but for some reason I became "granma sue".

It's funny what the kids come up with...like MopMop for me. My kids called my mom MIMI and my dad Grampy. But they called their dad's parents Beach Grandma and Beach Grampa. They lived at the beach. And those names stuck. Even now that they live in the woods and my parents have both passed away...the kids still call them by the Beach names.

Nana is a good grandma name and a lot easier to say than Granny Annie. My oldest grandson started that so it stuck for the rest of the kids.
