Just Plain Stupid!

That's the only reason I have. I am just plain stupid sometimes. Those of you who follow me on Facebook know I just recently went to the Doctor's. I had let my diabetes medicines run out and then just ignored my diet for 4 months. 4 MONTHS!!! What the hell was I thinking? I wasn't. Now I'm paying for it. I have the onset of Diabetic Retinopathy. Good news is....if I keep my diabetes under control from here on won't get worse. I also have protein in my urine which means I am damaging my kidneys. Good says if I keep my sugar under control it can be reversed. Why do some of us thing that if we ignore things nothing will happen? I am proof that doesn't work. I used Christmas and being busy with Santa as an excuse and then Scott and Liz's wedding. But really there was no excuse. I have honestly been trying to get my sugar under control. My glucose readings have been really good for the most part. Some have been a little high but I know it was caused by what I ate. So I just won't eat those foods. I'm learning all over again. I am even going to be seeing a diabetes specialist, which any other doctor never suggested to me. I love my "young" doctor because he really is about taking care of me as long as I try to take care of myself. He would rather see me off pills than prescribe me more. So it is all up to me to accept this challenge of getting well and staying well. And I do accept it because I have so much to live for and see!

Awwww, we're all allowed to be stupid once in a while, it's only human:-) At least you've learned from your mistake and can now work on taking better care of your health. We tend to "forget" to do that sometimes!! Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. xoxo

We all get so tired of being under the controlling thumb of the medical profession that sometimes we just pretend it's really not about us and ignore the rules. It isn't stupidity, it is wishful thinking.
